Summer day camps »Ferienwaldheim« in Stuttgart

Every summer more than 8 500 children between 3 and 14 years spend their summer holidays in one of the 29 summer day camps in Stuttgart. Some of the camps are also open during other times of the year.

Most of the summer day camps are located in the pleasant suburbs or in the beautiful green forests of Stuttgart. The children are brought to and from the city zone of Stuttgart with special shuttle busses.

A stay in a summer day camp is a fantastic and unique adventure for every child. The days in the summer day camp are filled with plenty of exciting and creative activities such as arts and crafts, day trips, sports, games, music and singing. But there is also time for recreation and leisure.

Educationally trained camp counselors arrange an exciting holiday program for the participants of the summer day camp every weekday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. They all work as volunteers caring for the children with commitment and affection. To make sure that the program can be designed age-based and individual for each child, the children are divided into age groups. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner are provided each day. If a special diet is needed by reason of religious habits or health, it can be prepared by the kitchen staff of the summer day camp.

The summer day camps are financially supported by the city of Stuttgart and parents pay a contribution for their child’s stay in the camp. There are special discounts for families with low income, at least 3 children or children with special needs, single parents or families with the »Familiencard« of the city of Stuttgart.

If you have a »bonus card«, Waldheim is free of charge.
